Diese Anwendung habe ich vorerst nur im offline-Betrieb ausprobiert.

Overview
Nokia Image Exchange is an experimental image gallery to make browsing and sharing images fun and easy. It aims to provide a seamless integration of a mobile image gallery application and a corresponding web-service. Image Exchange explores user experience when the mobile phone is enabled with an always-on data connection and utilizes existing contact information as a basis for social networking.
A few notable highlights include: automatic account creation, automatic back up and synchronization of image data, instant sharing, notifications about new images from contacts and a web interface for uploading and downloading images.
Note: The first time you use Image Exchange it may be initially slow as it generates image thumbnails and uploads images onto your private web account. If available, you can use a WiFI network and charger during this period. After initial upload the application should be quite fast.
Very Important Notice: Nokia Image Exchange is an experimental research project by Nokia Research Center. It can transfer very large amounts of data. A flat-fee data plan or WiFi access is essentially required. For similar mainstream Nokia services, check out Nokia Ovi Share.

Compatibility and system requirements
Tested on: N95 (all versions), N85, N82 N81 (all models), E71, N76, N78 and Nokia 5320 XpressMusic. Image Exchange should also work on many other S60 3.1 and 3.2 devices.
Devices known not to work or have issues: N96, E90 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
The web service has been tested with Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 7. Google Chrome and Opera 9 seem to work. For the time being, Internet Explorer 6 has some aesthetic issues.

Habe mir die Anwendung gerade auf mein N95 geladen und bin eifrig beim Ausprobieren. Bin jetzt schon begeistert. Kleiner Tipp: Beim Kennenlernen des Programms sollten auch die Tasten * und # nicht verschmäht werden.
Absolut gelungen! Ein Beispiel dafür, dass Nokia Beta Labs auch Hervorragendes zu leisten in der Lage ist!
Fazit zum Zeitpunkt der Momentaufnahme: … eine must-have-application!

Was ist das eigentlich genau, habe das Update heute auch im RSS gehabt, musste aber feststellen, dass wir die erste Version gar nicht vorgestellt haben. Lust 'nen Artikel zu schreiben Tumleh?

Die erste Version hatte ich doch oben im Forum am 18.12.2008 vorgestellt. Damals hatte es mich auch noch nicht so recht vom Hocker gerissen, doch jetzt bin ich positiv überrascht. Es lohnt sich allemal, die Applikation auszuprobieren. Ich selbst bin ja gerade dabei, mich da hinein zu vertiefen.
Lust 'nen Artikel zu schreiben habe ich schon, Oli. Doch zuvor muss und will ich mich in das Programm noch weiter "einarbeiten".
Doch ich kann schon jetzt sagen: Es macht unendlich viel Spaß!
Eine Frage beschäftigt mich aber dennoch: Nokia Photo Browser (bisher nur für die 5th Edition) soll auch folgen demnächst für die 3rd Edition. Doch jetzt haben wir ja schon Nokia Image Exchange. Was soll oder wird mit Nokia Photo Browser anders oder gar noch besser sein?

Ich weiß leider nicht was Image Exchange bietet, aber wenn du wissen willst, was der Photo Browser (top App!) alles kann, dann schau dir das Video im Bericht an, die Animationen sind wirklich toll und machen Spaß!
Teste die Anwendung noch ein wenig und wenn du deinen Bericht soweit fertig hast kannste mir ja ne PN schicken.

Was Nokia Photo Browser zu leisten vermag, weiß ich so ziemlich genau, da ich mich damit ja bereits seit über einer Woche sehr intensiv beschäftige und dazu den ersten Thread gebracht hatte. Und ich habe alle dazu verfügbaren Veröffentlichungen im Web aufgesogen.
Nokia Image Exchange könnte damit (vorsichtig ausgedrückt) in etwa verglichen werden, obwohl es damit nichts zu touchen gibt. Bin inzwischen schon richtig vernarrt in dieses Programm, obwohl ich bisher bei Fotos immer das kommerzielle Programm Resco Photo Viewer nutzte. Das eine Programm kann jedoch das andere nicht ersetzen. Beide parallel zu verwenden, erscheint mir momentan optimal.
Ein wenig testen genügt mir nicht. Bevor ich einen Artikel schreibe, muss ich jedes auch noch so kleine Detail kennen und beherrschen.

Das trifft auch auf das Nokia E51 zu.
Allerdings stellt sich das Programm auf dem E51 teilweise anders dar als auf dem N95. Hervorhebenswert erscheint mir hier die Tatsache, dass auf dem E51 ein nach Monaten aufgeteiltes Säulendiagramm angeboten wird. Pro Monat wird zudem die Anzahl der Fotos angegeben. Ein schnelles zeitliches Suchen ist somit möglich. Auf dem N95 scheint dieses Säulendiagramm zu fehlen, dort werden alle Fotos in Form von thumbs dargestellt, was bei sehr vielen Fotos auch schon wieder leicht unübersichtlich werden könnte. Doch meine Tests laufen ja erst seit gestern; vielleicht entdecke ich ja das mit dem Säulendiagramm auf dem N95 auch noch.

Auf beiden Handys sind beide Formen der Suche möglich, also entweder thumbs oder Diagramm. Alles andere wäre mir auch vollkommen unerklärlich gewesen.

Nokia Image Exchange service was updated last week. Along with the server update came wider support for operators and thus more of you should be able to register and try out what the service is like. The list of supported operators has grown considerably but not every operator is covered. The operator support can now be more easily checked from Nokia Image Exchange website under system requirements on the download page or help page.
The second change to the web interface is that it now allows sharing images to your contacts. This is easily done via sharing panel in image view. Viewing images from your friends can also be done via the web service. This is done so you can decide to use whichever interface that better fits your needs.
A new client of Nokia Image Exchange is also to be released today. Along various bug fixes there are also bigger changes.
* Interface has been translated to English, Russian, Spanish, Finnish, Chinese and Swedish. Do note that some languages such as Chinese depend on the firmware to be able to show the characters correctly. Changing language requires to restart Nokia Image Exchange.
* Image rotations now work on 3.2 devices with accelerometer (e.g. N85)
* Symbian 3.0 devices are now supported
